FL3TCH3R Exhibit

I visited the Reece Museum on Thursday morning and spent time looking at the FL3TCH3R Exhibit. This exhibit was very eye opening as it portrayed various societal and political ideas in an abundance of ways from paintings to sculptures. One piece that has stuck with me is entitled “America 2018.” It depicts a hand holding a gun, facing the viewer with the phrase “America 2018.” The background  is red with many names listed across the entirety of the piece. “America 2018” brings to light the reality of gun violence.

There are many different works in this exhibit, and I would recommend visiting it to anyone on campus. It’s a true eye opener.
